Adoration of the Magi
Three Kings or Three Wise Men
The Magi from the East are three characters that appear in the New Testament of the Bible, who came to Bethlehem, guided by a star to the baby Jesus. According to tradition, these three wise men offered to God Born gifts like gold, frankincense and myrrh. The three kings are Melchior, the white king and the older; Caspar, the blond middle-aged king and Balthasar, the black king and the youngest one of the three. These three biblical characters symbolize all humanity. The three kings from the East traveled with their camels for a long time in the desert, following a magic star in the sky that led to the place where they would find the baby Jesus. The Kings were dressed with beautiful clothes and capes and with their heads covered with turbans or crowns. Their camels were also beautiful harness and blankets.
The scene of the adoration of the Magi is also known as the Epiphany and was often depicted in Christian art, throughout history. The feast of the Epiphany on Catholic religion is celebrated on 6 January, the day of the Three Wise Men.
In some countries, there is a tradition that children receive gifts during the kings night, the eve of Epiphany, just as Jesus received the gifts of the Magi who came from the East. The three kings receive help from its numerous pages to be able to distribute all gifts during this magical night.
Here the kids will find beautiful and varied coloring pages of the Magi. Since the trip on foot or by camel through the desert following the star until the time of adoration and the delivery of gifts for the baby Jesus.
